Neoin

Designing a scalable investment platform for the real estate industry

Context

Neoin is a real estate investment platform designed to connect investors and property projects through a digital, transparent, and scalable experience.
The platform operates in a highly regulated and trust-sensitive environment, where financial clarity, automation, and reliability are critical to user confidence and long-term adoption.

The challenge was to design a product capable of handling complex financial workflows, recurring payments, and investor visibility, while remaining accessible to users with different levels of financial literacy.

The Problem

Managing real estate investments traditionally involves fragmented processes, low transparency, and heavy manual operations.
Investors often lack visibility into payments, returns, and contract status, while internal teams struggle with operational inefficiencies and error-prone financial routines.

The core challenge was to translate financial and operational complexity into a clear, trustworthy, and scalable digital system.

My Role

I worked as the Product Designer, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

My responsibilities included:

  • Leading discovery and problem framing

  • Mapping complex financial and operational workflows

  • Designing user experiences for investors and internal stakeholders

  • Structuring scalable interaction patterns and UI components

  • Supporting engineering with clear design intent and system logic

Discovery & Insights

Through stakeholder interviews and analysis of existing processes, key insights emerged:

  • Investors needed clear visibility and predictability around payments, returns, and contract status

  • Manual financial operations increased the risk of errors and limited scalability

  • Trust was directly linked to clarity, consistency, and transparency of information

These insights shaped the product direction, prioritizing automation, information hierarchy, and explicit system feedback.

Designing Financial Workflows with Clarity

One of the main challenges was designing experiences around:

  • Monthly payments

  • Investment tracking

  • Contract and project status

I focused on creating clear, step-by-step workflows that reduced ambiguity and helped users understand where they were in the investment lifecycle.

Financial data was presented with:

  • Strong hierarchy

  • Consistent patterns

  • Clear terminology

  • Explicit feedback for actions and status changes

This approach reduced cognitive load and increased user confidence when interacting with financial information.

Platform Architecture & Scalability

The Neoin platform was designed as a modular system, capable of supporting different investment products and user profiles.

Key design decisions included:

  • Reusable components and layouts for financial data visualization

  • Consistent interaction patterns across investor and internal views

  • Flexible structures that could evolve as the business model expanded

This system-first approach allowed the platform to scale without redesigning core experiences.

Design System Foundations

To support consistency and speed, I structured a component-based design foundation in Figma, leveraging Auto Layout, variants, and shared patterns.

The goal was not just visual consistency, but:

  • Faster iteration cycles

  • Clear communication with engineering

  • Reduced UI inconsistencies as new features were added

The design foundation served as a reliable source of truth as the platform evolved.

Collaboration with Engineering

I worked closely with developers to ensure that complex financial workflows were translated accurately into production.

By validating constraints early and documenting interaction logic clearly, we reduced rework and aligned design decisions with technical feasibility.

This collaboration was essential to maintaining trust and reliability in a finance-driven product.

Accessibility & Trust

Given the financial nature of the platform, trust and accessibility were fundamental.

Design decisions prioritized:

  • Clear language and hierarchy

  • Predictable interactions

  • Error prevention and transparent system feedback

These elements helped users feel confident and informed at every step of their investment journey.

Outcomes

The project resulted in:

  • Improved clarity and transparency for investors

  • Reduced operational friction for internal teams

  • A scalable digital foundation for future investment products

  • Stronger alignment between business, design, and engineering

Key Learnings

This project reinforced the importance of designing for trust, scalability, and long-term growth.

By treating design as a system — rather than a set of isolated screens — it was possible to simplify complex financial operations while supporting a growing real estate investment platform
